A PERSONAL REFLECTION / CAMERON HALUSHKA

Insurance changed
what I saw as possible.

A new career. Bigger goals. An opportunity I now want to share with others.

Before insurance, I was working at a beer distributor while going to school. I spent five years there, making around $11,000 a year, while working toward a career in physical therapy.

I had a plan. Then I was given an opportunity that made me reconsider where I wanted my life to go.

It changed my direction.

When I started in life insurance, I made the choice to go all in. I changed my major, my career path, and the goals I had for my life. That was a big decision, especially after spending so much time working toward something else.

I chose to take this opportunity seriously and see what I could build.

It changed my financial future.

In my first year in the business, I’ve cleared six figures. Coming from around $11,000 a year at the beer distributor, that change has been significant for me.

The income has given me a reason to think differently about my future: what I want to build, how I want to grow, and what I want my work to make possible.

It gave my work a purpose.

Every conversation is with a real person who has a family, responsibilities, and people depending on them. Helping someone think through how their loved ones would manage financially makes the work matter to me.

The money matters, too. I’m proud of the business I’m building and the families I get to help along the way.

It gave me a new goal.

Now I want to build a team and show others the same opportunity I was given. I want to share what I’ve learned, be honest about the work involved, and help people explore a career they may never have considered.

Someone opened a door for me. Now I want to help others see that door, too.

It still takes work.

There were moments when I wanted to quit. Getting here took learning, consistent effort, and continuing through those moments. Going all in meant committing to the work, even when it was difficult.

My experience is my own. I can’t promise someone else the same income or the same path. What I can do is share my experience and have an honest conversation about the opportunity.
